Dragon Ball Z: Hyper Dimension is a 2D fighter based on the incredibly popular Dragon Ball Z anime and manga. This epic fighter was developed by Tose and published by anime game legends, BandaiDragon Ball Z: Hyper Dimension was originally released in Japan in 1996 on the SNES and then later in Europe in 1997.

Dragon Ball Z: Hyper Dimension was a smash hit amongst critics and fans alike. The game lets you recreate iconic fights from the Dragon Ball Z anime. In Japan alone, Dragon Ball Z: Hyper Dimension sold over 220,000 copies during its lifetime. Although the game was never released outside of Japan and Europe, dedicated fans have created multiple fan translations.

Dragon Ball Z: Hyper Dimension works similarly to many other anime fighting games. Players pick from a rooster of iconic heroes and villains to battle it out in one-on-one fights. In the game’s story mode players progress through the events of Dragon Ball Z. Players take on the role of the Z Fighters as they protect Earth from alien, robotic, and magical threats.

This SNES fighting game has a roster of ten characters. Players can jump into battle as Goku, Majin Vegeta, Gotenks, Gohan, Vegito, Piccolo, Majin Buu, Kid Buu, Frieza, or Perfect Cell. Each character has their own unique set of attacks and special moves. In Dragon Ball Z: Hyper Dimension, you can become your favorite hero or villain and dominate the battlefield.

Although Dragon Ball Z: Hyper Dimension doesn’t have any traditional cheat codes, there are multiple secrets in the game. After beating the game’s story mode, there are extra fights players can complete to unlock a special ending. The number of extra fights depends on how many Senzu Beans players used during story mode. If players beat story mode without using Senzu Beans and win all 3 extra battles, then Gotenks and Gohan will appear in the background during the credits. Additionally, Goku and Vegeta will merge into Super Vegito.

No, Dragon Ball Z: Hyper Dimension does not have any in-game cheat codes. Although there aren’t any cheat codes, there is a secret ending that players can earn. By beating the story mode without using Senzu Beans and winning the three special fights at the end, players will get a unique sense while the credits roll.
