Like a Dragon: Ishin! is an action-adventure video game developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and published by Sega. Like a Dragon: Ishin! is actually a remake of the 2014 game, Ryu ga Gotoku Ishin!, that was released exclusively in Japan. Now, in 2023 Like a Dragon: Ishin! is available worldwide on modern consoles.
The beautiful setting of historical Japan and the robust combat system earned Like a Dragon: Ishin! favorable critic reviews upon release. Like a Dragon: Ishin! brings all the high-octane fights and wacky side quests of the Yakuza series to the late Edo period of Japan.
Like a Dragon: Ishin! Premise
In Like a Dragon: Ishin!, players find themselves in 1860s Japan during a time of national turmoil and violence. The Western powers of the world have arrived in Japan and sparked a conflict over the future identity of the country. In Japan’s capital city, Kyo, a group of swordsmen and samurai called the Shinsengumi, attempt to maintain order. Players join the notorious Shinsengumi in order to enact justice and influence the fate of Japan.
Like a Dragon: Ishin! Main Character
Like a Dragon: Ishin! wouldn’t be a true samurai story without some dishonor and redemption. Players take control of Sakamoto Ryōma, a loyal follower and adoptive son of a government magistrate. After the assassination of his father, Ryoma is blamed for the murder and forced to go into hiding. Now Ryoma has traveled to Kyo and joined the Shinsengumi in the hopes of finding his father’s killer and clearing his name.
Like a Dragon: Ishin! Series
Like a Dragon: Ishin! is actually a spin-off of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s main series, Yakuza. The Yakuza series has been around since 2005 and has produced a lot of titles since then. Almost every Yakuza game focuses its gameplay around in-depth combat, where players switch between fighting styles. Players can hot-swap between bare-knuckle brawls, swordfighting, and pistol dueling. Like a Dragon Ishin! Cheat Codes
It’s unfortunate news but Like a Dragon Ishin! has no cheat codes. Part of the goal in Like a Dragon Ishin! and other Yakuza games is to build wealth through completing missions or owning businesses. A cheat code to grant infinite wealth or to make combat easier would invalidate a lot of the gameplay. Players will just have to grind through the game in order to progress.
Although there are no cheat codes, players can still spend their time hunting for trophies and achievements. Like a Dragon Ishin! boasts a plentiful amount of mini-games and side content that will keep players entertained for hours.
