Infamous: Second Son Lead Designer Quits Sony

It would seem that the video game industry has become a veritable revolving door of people leaving their positions these days, as former Sucker Punch lead now joins that list.

Jaime Griesemer made his departure known via Twitter recently, saying, “…yes, I have left Sucker Punch. Not really talking about it yet, tho.”

Of course, what would the internet be without drumming up some type of controversy or ulterior motives where none may exist? After speculation began to circulate regarding exactly why he left the company, Griesemer finally decided to clear the air by releasing an official statement. In it, he sings the praises of his former employer, dispelling rumors there may have been a rift. “…please don’t take the timing as cause for concern about Second Son …or Sucker Punch – a studio on the rise with a bright future – or Sony – a great organization with some of the savviest, most pro-gamer executives in the business…I am honored to be mentioned in the same articles…” he says.

While he doesn’t completely reveal what his future plans are just yet, he notes change is “part of the job,” and calls it an “…exciting time to be a free agent and I’m going to go see what’s out there. Simple as that…”
