Sony Adds inFAMOUS Dev To Their Arsenal

None

This isn’t surprising news, but it’s great for Sony fans that would like to continue seeing great games on their PlayStation consoles. For the longest time, Sucker Punch has been a second-party developer for Sony, giving the PlayStation consoles a decade’s worth of stellar games like the Sly and inFAMOUS games. But now, the developer has officially joined other top-tier developers like Naughty Dog (Uncharted), Media Molecule (LittleBigPlanet), and Zipper Interactive (SOCOM) to become the newest member of Sony Computer Entertainment’s Worldwide Studios.

SCE WWS president Shuhei Yoshida had this to say about the acquisition, “Sucker Punch Productions is one of the most highly acclaimed development studios in the industry and we have enjoyed a wonderful relationship with the company for over 12 years. We are delighted to officially welcome them to the SCE family. The addition of Sucker Punch to SCE WWS reiterates our dedication to developing world class gaming experiences that can only be found on the PlayStation platform.”

Sucker Punch Productions’ Managing Partner Brian Fleming shared Yoshida’s excitement, saying “We’ve enjoyed an incredible relationship with Sony that has allowed us to combine our creative design capabilities with their guidance to make some of the best franchises to hit the PlayStation platforms. Equally important, the relationship with SCE has provided us the flexibility and trust to take creative risks and invent new properties. As a part of the Sony Computer Entertainment group we look forward to introducing more innovative content and providing consumers with exciting, new interactive experiences.”

Here’s looking forward to another decade of fantastic games from Sucker Punch.
