Inversion Delayed Until Early 2012

NAMCO Bandai’s gravity-based third-person shooter Inversion has unfortunately been delayed. Retailers have recently been changing the release date to March 27th, but according to NAMCO Bandai, the game is set for an “early 2012” release. That’s about as specific as they can get right now.

A representative from NAMCO Bandai told Joystiq: “The launch of Inversion has been moved to early 2012, and more details will follow in an upcoming announcement. This additional development time will allow the team to polish several key aspects of the game ensuring Inversion is of the highest quality.”

We got a chance to play Inversion last summer at E3, and it was definitely fun. Aside from some clunky control problems and issues with the actual “shooting” part of the game, the gravity-based gameplay was rather innovative. In my personal opinion, NAMCO Bandai can use this delay to make the game even better and refine some parts of the game that weren’t quite nailed down yet. Let’s hope that they use their time wisely.
