Tales Of Hearts Trademark Filed In U.S.

None

NAMCO Bandai is pretty notorious for not bringing Tales titles over to the U.S., and there are tons of Tales games for the DS and even consoles that have been passed over by the localization team. However, fans have made their voices heard, and, as a result, some titles such as Tales of Graces F are finally making their way to America, albeit several years late. Now, it appears that Tales of Hearts, the best-selling DS Tales crossover game, might also be coming over to America.

NAMCO Bandai filed a trademark for Tales of Hearts in America on February 17th, 2012. How is this different from the game’s previous trademark? Well, the new trademark applies also applies to downloadable video game software, whereas the previous trademark covered computer game programs, coin-operated amusement games, and networked video games. This would seem to imply that NAMCO Bandai is considering releasing Tales of Hearts on the 3DS e-shop—at least, we can hope that is the case.

Tales of Hearts was originally released in 2008. Several fan translation projects have started up attempting to localize the game, but none have yet been completed. Perhaps NAMCO Bandai saw these projects as an indicator of how popular the series is in America.
