Notoriously Unlocalized Franchise Pushes 3DS To The Top

None

For ages, JRPG fans have been complaining about NAMCO Bandai’s repeated decision to not bring the Tales series over to American shores. Ever since Tales of Phantasia came out, the Tales franchise has had a rabid fan following. Unfortunately, NAMCO just does not believe that Tales has a powerful enough following to merit it coming to America.

Well here is some evidence to the contrary, NAMCO. The 3DS, which was previously falling behind in Japan, has now received a huge boost in sales from—guess what?—a tales game. The remake of Tales of the Abyss is now at the top of the Japanese bestselling games chart, taking in nearly 75,000 sales in its first week on the market. In fact, it’s the only 3DS game in the top five on the bestselling list. Heck, it even beat out the remake of Ocarina of Time.

So get off your butts and start translating all those lost Tales games already, NAMCO. If this sales chart says anything, it’s that Tales fans are rabid and hungry for some more Tales action.
