Operation Rainfall May Bring Torrent Of JRPGs To America

None

Go to Amazon.com right now, and check out their “bestsellers in Video Games” chart. Have you played number one? You haven’t? That’s because it hasn’t come out in America!

Monado: Beginning of the World is a game made by Monolith Soft, the team behind Xenosaga. That explains why it was renamed Xenoblade Chronicles in Japan, and also why it hasn’t made it over here to America. This, however, is easily one of the most requested import games in existence. So much so that fans of the series have launched “Operation Rainfall,” a plan to send Nintendo enough letters requesting a Xenoblade American release to bury them in paper.

Guess what? Nintendo is paying attention! They recently posted on their Facebook stating “Hey fans, we appreciate your enthusiasm. Look for more updates to come soon!” Seeing this, fans immediately started requesting other games be brought to America as well including The Last Story and Pandora’s Tower. Even the latest Fire Emblem game made it onto that list, a game that I personally was hoping Nintendo would bring here some time ago.

Hopefully Nintendo will go through with some of these localization requests, because the JRPG genre is drying up here in America.
