Pokémon Conquest Comes Stateside June 18th

Not many people know about the Nobunaga’s Ambition RPG series, since it hasn’t been localized for America. However, this is about to change as the bizarre Pokémon/Nobunaga crossover entitled “Pokémon Conquest” will be coming here on June 18th. The game will come out on the DS, not the 3DS. It joins Pokémon Black and White 2 as the second Pokémon game to stick to the outdated Nintendo handheld.

Though this isn’t exactly the most pure representation of the Nobunaga’s Ambition formula, it will serve as a fitting introduction to the series for the American RPG fan base. That being said, the hardcore Poké-fans may take issue with the game. While all mainstream Pokémon games are made by Game Freak, Pokémon Conquest is not. Instead it is made by Tecmo Koei, the same people responsible for Ninja Gaiden. The game will be a 2D adventure set in a world where Samurai keep Pokémon as their companions. You will be fighting not only with your trusted companions but also with cold hard steel.
