The original sales numbers for the PlayStation Vita in Japan were honestly a little depressing. Recently, however, it seems like the handheld is making a bit of a comeback. For the past two weeks Vita games have been showing up on Media Create’s top 20 game software sales list. Last week, Tales of Innocence-R managed to grab the number three spot on the chart. This week it comes in at number 14. PS Vita games are notorious for slipping off the charts after a week, and so this title’s staying power is a good sign for the livelihood of the Vita. Another title has managed to push its way up the charts this week: Ragnarok Odyssey by GameArts and GunHo. Let’s see if even more titles manage to make it on the list next week. ![]()
Sony platforms are notorious for starting slow and then hitting a sales boom after a couple killer apps fill the console library. If the pattern continues, the PS Vita will make a slow steady climb to the top of the charts. By Angelo M. D’Argenio |
