Katsura Hashino Hard At Work On Persona 5

None

In the wake of Persona 4 Arena’s U.S. release yesterday, North American fans of the Shin Megami Tensei Persona sub-series are getting their fighting game on, though it’s pretty clearly not a game for everyone. So many of Persona’s fans are RPG addicts that it seems almost disingenuous to release a canonical entry in the series that demands lightning fast reflexes and finger-aerobics of a high order.

For those people, we have some good news: Katsura Hashino, Persona’s producer, has confirmed that his current focus is “the next numbered title” in the Persona series. Further, Shigenori Soejima has already submitted sketches for the title.

So when can we expect the fifth Persona game to be unveiled? If they’re just now getting the sketch stage, it seems like the wait could be a long one. They’re going with their own, in-house engine for this game, only the studio’s second HD title (the first being Catherine).
