When the Kinect came out in 2010, Microsoft thought it would be an answer to the Wii’s quirky motion gaming system. But the Internet had other ideas. Since its release, gamers and hardware nuts have been repurposing their Kinects for all kinds of things: remote controlled cars, motions capture devices, even as a way to import a mountain-sized version of yourself into Minecraft. However, before any of this was even possible, the community needed to find a way to connect their devices to their PCs, and obviously this was done with relative ease (and with Microsoft’s help ). Well, Microsoft is about to make it even easier by releasing a Windows version of the Kinect in 2012 (just like they had promised ).
