King’s Quest Chapter 1 Is Now Free

King’s Quest Chapter 1 Is Now Free

King’s Quest is a classic point-and-click adventure game originally developed by Sierra Entertainment and released in 1980. At the time it was quite revolutionary and set new standards for storytelling in what was a brand new medium. The chalice has been passed and now a King’s Quest reboot has been developed and released in an episodic format by The Odd Gentleman to generally positive reviews. While this is no longer a simple point-and-click affair, The Odd Gentleman wanted to keep things simple in order to focus more on the narrative, so players can expect a more leisurely, passive gameplay experience.

If that’s something you think you could get into, now would be a good time to give King’s Quest a shot. The first chapter, A Knight to Remember , is now free across all platforms: PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Steam. If you decide you really like what you see, you can purchase the season pass for $25, which will include chapters 2-5. There was an added epilogue included for those who buy the Complete Collection for $30, so there’s that if this just blows your greaves off.
