Kingdom Hearts 3D Coming Westward

Kingdom Hearts 3D Coming Westward

None

Kingdom Hearts: [Dream Drop Distance]will be hitting the 3DS in Japan next year, but we’ve finally gotten confirmation that it will also be heading to the West. That’s right, we’ll be seeing releases in both North America and Europe.

This is good news for Kingdom Hearts fans, though it’s not quite as exciting as a full-blown Kingdom Hearts 3 would be.

Director Tetsuya Nomura had this to say in a press release yesterday: “With the tenth anniversary of the series on the horizon, the current Kingdom Hearts saga is approaching its climactic conclusion. The story of this game will serve as the opening chapter of the final conflict, and, as always, will be full of surprises. In order to best implement this element of surprise and discover new realms of possibility, we have chosen Nintendo 3DS as our platform. With its revolutionary new game system, this title will not only be a bold, exhilarating tale of adventure, but also a first look into the future form of the Kingdom Hearts series.”

Kingdom Hearts 3D will support the Circle Pad Pro, the bulky twenty-dollar accessory that adds a second circle pad to the 3DS and is sold only at GameStop.

The game will come out in March in Japan, but Kingdom Hearts games generally take a pretty long time to localize. So don’t expect this to hit our shelves until right around the Mayan apocalypse.
