Lead Writer for Mass Effect Andromeda Leaves BioWare for Bungie

This isn’t the first report I’ve written about senior staff leaving BioWare. Recently David Gaider, the man responsible for creating the world of Dragon Age and some of our favorite characters in Knights of the Old Republic left to work at Beamdog. Mass Effect: Andromeda senior development director Chris Wynn also left the team. Now Chris Schlerf, Mass Effect: Andromeda ‘s lead writer, has announced his departure through Twitter.

“To confirm what some folks asked about a few months back,” he said, “I am no longer working on ME:A at BioWare Montreal.” Now since the game is supposedly due this holiday season, I’m assuming that Schlerf’s work was done, and the story is set in stone. This leads me to believe that his departure was a peaceful one, and we shouldn’t suspect that it was a result of internal strife at BioWare. So where is he going now? According to Schlerf, he’s “…very happy to be back in Seattle, working with this scrappy little company called Bungie that some of you may have heard of. Think we might have some interesting stories to tell…” Hopefully he can take Destiny in a positive new direction as we look forward to a new expansion this year and a true sequel in 2017.
