Lego Dimensions ‘ massive collection of characters, vehicles, and worlds has been released in waves. The first wave had Level Packs that added The Simpsons , Portal , and Back to the Future areas and characters to the game. It was an exciting time. But an equally engaging area is now open with wave two. Say hello to Doctor Who!
The Doctor Who Lego Dimensions level pack adds a The Dalek Extermination of Earth challenge to the game. It also provides a Doctor minifigure, making him a playable character. He’s able to regenerate into his various forms. There’s also a Tardis and K-9 that comes with him. A Ninjago team pack and Fun Packs that include Bart, Krusty, and Unikitty minifigures are also now available.
Wave two is accompanied by a Lego Dimensions update that allows people to try playable characters without buying them. You can now “Hire a Hero” using studs. This lets you use one of the minifigures from the first wave without actually owning it for a limited time. Characters from future waves will also be available via Hire a Hero eventually.
The Lego Dimensions Doctor Who level pack is $29.99, the Ninjago team pack is $24.99, and the Lego Movie and The Simpsons character fun packs are $14.99 each.
