Madden Proves My Innocence, Your Honor

Madden Proves My Innocence, Your Honor

None

A man currently on trial for murder in North Carolina is using Madden, of all things, as his key defense. He is being accused of killing his pregnant fiancé, but he says there is no possible way he could because he was playing Madden at the time. The man in question, Michael Mead, showed a screenshot to a private investigator, which supposedly had a timestamp on it, proving that Mead could not have been at the murder victim, Lucy Johnson’s, house during the time of murder. This evidence is supported by Mead’s cell phone records, showing he left Johnson’s house about four hours before the murder and did not return until the next day.

Mead was arrested in January of 2009, and is still standing trial to this day. Prosecutors say that Mead killed Johnson when he found she was pregnant with his baby. Will Madden be the piece of evidence that finally cracks this case?

Who would have thought that video games would be used as key evidence in a murder trial? Although this does explain that slip of paper I found in my new copy of Super Mario Galaxy 2 that said, “OJ did it.”
