You can now create your own video games characters—from yourself.

A video game character is created based on your actual DNA. Just give a drop of your DNA to Make Me, and a character will be created using your distinct genetic code. The virtual creation will be a hybrid consisting of your personality and mental and physical attributes. Watch yourself come to life as the world’s most original superhero, soldier, spy, robot, gunslinger, racer, adventurer, or cartoon mascot.

Make Me is a PC game, and the DNA extractor plugs into the USB port. It’s similar to a diabetic testing unit, painlessly pricking your finger with a laser-sharpened needle to extract one small droplet of blood. The genetic information in the plasma is processed by the CPU, then sent to the company’s online Über-‘Puter for decoding. After a few hours, you will debut in the game.

“This has taken us more than a decade of development,” says company owner Butch Toots. “The DNA decoding technology has been leased from numerous scientific research laboratories worldwide at considerable costs. We are employing more technology than NASA here.”

Various characteristics can be determined from DNA such as body type, temperament, intellect, and predisposition. Based on data, and the use of a complex algorithm program, scientists are able to accurately predict behavior and reactions to certain situations. Therefore your character will not only resemble you physically, but also act like you. You can combine your attributes with existing characters such as warriors, monsters, robots, and cartoons, which are fully customizable. Of course there is no way to realistically determine your reaction to an aggressive giant alien spider, but the developers say that’s all part of the fun.

“If you’re a coward, it’s going to show up in your DNA, plain and simple,” claims Toots. “So you may need special armor and a high-powered weapon with auto lock-on targeting to boost your confidence. On the other hand, you may turn out to be a bare-chested warrior with only a spear and loincloth. Unless, of course, you’re female.”

Make Me, at its core, is an RPG. The developers claim that regardless of the characteristics of your avatar, you will be able to learn, adapt, grow, and evolve yourself in ways never dreamed possible.

“Make Me gives you the opportunity to see yourself the way others see you,” Toots explains. “It’s not always pretty, but it’s pretty cool. For the sequel, you and a member of the opposite sex will both upload your DNA, and the game will create your offspring. This could save a lot of marriages from happening in the first place. We’re calling the sequel Make Me Too.”
