Marvel Super Heroes Getting LEGO Adaptation

Marvel Super Heroes Getting LEGO Adaptation

On the surface, a LEGO reimagining of the Marvel universe seems like an obvious choice. The kid-friendly, Marvel Super Hero Squad has proven popular enough to spawn multiple videogames, and the LEGO treatment worked well for Batman and other iconic DC superheroes.

But that is exactly why it’s so strange that LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is actually something in the pipe. The LEGO series’ publisher, Warner Bros. Games, is part of the same company that owns DC comics, Marvel’s primary competitor. This isn’t the first time the two properties have been connected (if tenuously), and it begs the question of whether an amalgam LEGO game could be a possibility down the line.

For now, though, the focus is clearly on the Marvel front, with the game telling an original story that involves our favorite Marvel heroes attempting to thwart Loki and Galactus. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes will be coming to the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, PC, DS, 3DS and PlayStation Vita at an as-of-yet undetermined date.
