Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots Going Offline

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots Going Offline

None

Konami will soon be shutting down the online component of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for good. Its servers were up for four years, but most people did not play the game for its online component anyway. As such, traffic on the servers has gotten so low that it’s simply not worth running them anymore.

The servers are closing in waves. On March 21st, they closed down the online shop. On April 24th, all shop equipment became free while registration closed. Now, today, on June 12, 2012, the servers will be closing for good.

So get your final playtime in because we won’t be seeing multiplayer Guns of the Patriots gameplay anymore. However, we will very soon be seeing online multiplayer Metal Gear Rising gameplay, and you know you want to slash your friends to bits and rip out their spines in an online context.

Be on the lookout for more Metal Gear Rising information in the coming months. Don’t worry, you won’t be starved for online Metal Gear gameplay for long.
