Nintendo has announced that Metroid Other M has a glitch that will render you unable to advance in the game should you encounter it. The glitch occurs when players obtain the Ice Beam in Sector 3 and then backtrack after defeating the two-legged spiked enemy instead of proceeding forward through the next door. If you proceed forward rather than backtracking, you should be able to avoid the glitch.  Nintendo has offered to fix saved game data for players who did get stuck.
