Metroid Prime: Federation Force Coming in August

Metroid Prime: Federation Force Coming in August

Strap in, everybody, because we just learned the release date of one of the hottest games of the year. No, not Horizon: Zero Dawn – it’s not Persona 5 , either – I’m talking about Metroid Prime: Federation Force. Okay, so maybe this game isn’t super hot, but it is generating a lot of buzz. I suppose the buzz is overwhelmingly negative, but don’t let that diminish your hype! I happen to think it’s going to turn out pretty well; the potential is there , anyway. Just remember that Kensuke Tanabe knows what he’s doing, and Next Level Games is a developer that you can bet on .

At any rate, Federation Force is set to release on August 19 in North America, and September 2 in Europe. This is a little later than the projected “spring 2016” window announced during Nintendo’s E3 Direct last year, but we’ve seen with Star Fox Zero how a few extra months can make a huge difference. It’s also interesting to note that this is releasing for the old 3DS as well, because during the E3 direct Tanabe-san really made a big deal about the new 3DS and how its extra power and second c-stick renewed his faith in this project. Federation Force will playable this weekend during PAX East so hopefully we’ll have more footage and hands-on impressions to work with.
