Michael Clarke Duncan Passes Away At Age 54

Michael Clarke Duncan, perhaps most famous for his Oscar-nominated role in The Green Mile , passed away on Monday morning after a two-month hospitalization and treatment following a July heart attack. He was 54 years old.

Duncan’s imposing physique was strikingly contrasted on film by his rich, soothing voice, which was seen in The Whole Nine Yards and, recently, Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li , in which he played Balrog. Duncan, however, was also famed for his voice work, which was heard in Green Lantern when he voiced fan-favorite Lantern Kilowog, as well as in a smattering of high-profile video games, such as The Suffering: Ties That Bind (Blackmore), Saints Row (Benjamin King) and God of War II (Atlas).

It’s always tough to lose someone whose work affected so many, but it’s doubly so when it comes in the midst of that individual’s career, when they still had so much to offer. Michael Clarke Duncan, you will be sorely missed.
