When it comes to Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead adventures, there’s always some sort of mini-series between major installments. Between the first and second seasons of The Walking Dead , there was The Walking Dead: 400 Days . Between the second season and whatever happens next is The Walking Dead: Michonne . It missed its initial, expected launch window, but received a new one at The Game Awards 2015. It’s slipped to February 2016.
The Walking Dead: Michonne will consist of three episodes. In the comics, Michonne temporarily left Rick Grimes for 13 issues. The game will cover the period of her life from issues 126-139. Also, it’s been revealed that Orange is the New Black ‘s Samira Wiley will play Michonne. There’s no word on why Danai Gurira, who plays Michonne on The Walking Dead , isn’t reprising her role.
Here’s the latest The Walking Dead: Michonne trailer. You can hear Wiley’s first line at the 30 second mark!
As with most Telltale Games titles, The Walking Dead: Michonne will be released on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PCs, and smartphones. This one should be a pretty positive experience, since we’ll go in knowing Michonne has to survive!
