Microsoft May Still Explore VR Possibilities In The Future

Microsoft May Still Explore VR Possibilities In The Future

This past weekend, Eurogamer published an interview in which Xbox Head Phil Spencer stated that despite having HoloLens, Microsoft might still look into VR possibilities down the road. Spencer added that while many companies are working on interesting concepts, no one seems to fully understand how to use the technology yet.

Project Morpheus and the Oculus Rift were both on display at GDC 2015 a few weeks ago. While Spencer has openly said that he doesn’t see either company as direct competitors in this space, his overall vision of HoloLens does at the very least leave the playing field open if Microsoft decides to explore VR further.

In my personal opinion, Microsoft will eventually dive into VR and especially so if Sony has success with the medium. At the end of the day, competition is good for business and the consumers will end up benefiting the most from all of this.

Do you all think that Microsoft will explore VR technology at some point? Please feel free to let us know your thoughts on the matter in the comments section below.
