The Mirror’s Edge Catalyst closed beta is about to start on time, but it’s looking like the final game is running a bit late. The culprit? Social features. EA wants to make sure that they’re running smoothly and have time to makes tweaks based on closed beta feedback.
At least these particular social features seem pretty cool. You’ll be able to create and share your own Time Trials, as well as hide little collectibles around the city for your friends to find. Of course, there are the usual leaderboards as well, but the ability to directly challenge your friends seems more fun and novel to me.
Fortunately, this delay is only for a couple weeks. The (hopefully) final relase date for Mirror’s Edge Catalyst will be June 7.
