Mirror’s Edge Catalyst Comes 5 Days Early to EA Access

Mirror’s Edge Catalyst Comes 5 Days Early to EA Access

I’ve been looking forward to Mirror’s Edge Catalyst for quite some time now, and I just can’t seem to catch a break. I made it into the closed beta, but the confirmation email went to an old account that I never check and I missed out on the beta period. Then, in response to player feedback, DICE decided to delay the game from May 24 to June 7. Now, as if that wasn’t bad enough, I have to sit from June 2 until launch day knowing that many of you are free-running all over the city of Glass, powering through the story and enjoying some sweet, parkour goodness while the rest of us wait around like chumps.

How, you ask? EA and DICE are granting a 5-day early access period to Mirror’s Edge Catalyst for Access members. To be clear, if you play on an Xbox One then you can subscribe to EA Access for only $5 a month, and if you’re playing on PC, you can subscribe to Origin Access for the same price. The two services are synonymous, and both will grant you the 5-day early access period for Mirror’s Edge Catalyst beginning June 2. You’ll have access to the full version of the game, but there’s a small catch: you can only play for a maximum of 6 hours. Typically the early access periods last for 10 hours, but since Mirror’s Edge is such a story-driven game, and there are a lot of crazy speedrunners out there, DICE wanted to make sure no one could complete the full game during the trial period.
