Miyamoto Vetoed Plans To Make Hyrule Warriors Like… Well… Zelda

Many people called Hyrule Warriors a Dynasty Warriors clone with a Zelda coat of paint… and that’s exactly what it is. However, that wasn’t always the plan. Supposedly, there were originally ideas to make Hyrule Warriors feel more like a Zelda game. Apparently Yosuke Hayashi, head developer on the project, wanted to break from Dynasty Warriors ’ mold and include several staples of the Zelda series, such as extended boss battles, huge dungeons, and more.

However, it was Shigeru Miyamoto himself that put a stop to that line of thinking. Essentially, the original plan was to put elements of Dynasty Warriors into a Zelda game, but Miyamoto wanted to put elements of Zelda into a Dynasty Warriors game.

Which one would you rather play? Let us know in the comments.
