Monster Hunter IV Ships 3 Million Copies in Japan

Monster Hunter IV Ships 3 Million Copies in Japan

Capcom has just met its sales goal for Monster Hunter IV . Projecting that the title would sell 2.8 million copies by the end of the fiscal year in March 2014, Monster Hunter IV has just broken the 3 million mark in Japan alone. This is up from the two million initial sales that the game had during its launch week. This makes Monster Hunter IV the record holder for best-selling third party 3DS game in Japan.

3 million copies would be a fantastic international sales goal, but as a Japan alone number, it’s astounding. So obviously, Monster Hunter IV will be coming over here to the U.S. right? Well, we aren’t so sure. Capcom has unveiled no plans to localize Monster Hunter 4 yet. In fact, it has flat out denied any plans to release the game on the PlayStation Vita, which is what a lot of people would expect, considering that several monster hunter titles were on the PSP . Granted, Monster Hunter is not as popular of a game here in America, but not localizing a game that sold this well in Japan seems to be a foolish choice.
