More Details Emerge On Black Ops II’s Nuketown Promotion

None

BlackOpsNews recently posted a short FAQ about Nuketown 2025, the upcoming “sequel map” referred to by Activision as “the biggest incentive in Call of Duty history.”

The FAQ explains that fans who pre-order Call of Duty: Black Ops II will get the Nuketown 2025 downloadable bonus map for free at launch. This applies to all versions of Call of Duty (PC, PS3, and Xbox 360) and is available from most major retailers across the world. As of now, pre-ordering the game is the only way to receive Nuketown 2025. Nothing has been revealed about what will happen to the map post-launch, including whether or not it will be available to download and purchase outside of this pre-order offer.

Another peculiar question answered in the FAQ is whether or not Nuketown 2025 will be locked on the disc at launch. The FAQ reassures us that this is not on-disc DLC and that it will be downloaded, not that it really makes a difference because the team will have to work on the map during normal game development anyway in order to have it done by release.

I think it’s sad that on-disc DLC has become so common that companies now have to justify their day-one DLC that isn’t on disc.
