Mortal Kombat Hits The Vita In May

Mortal Kombat Hits The Vita In May

None

A portable rendition of the Mortal Kombat reboot/retcon is no new news. It was announced for the Vita long before launch, demonstrated at trade shows and the like in the months leading up to the handheld’s recent release. Despite its clearly playable, functional state, though, word on when gamers could expect to hold it in their hands was not forthcoming.

Today, that changes. Warner Bros. has provided official release dates for the game in both North American and European territories. Even those who have played the console version of the game may wish to take note, as the Vita rendition introduces features such as touch-screen fatalities and special challenges that demand use of the Vita’s specific features. Blood covering up the screen? Swipe it away with your finger.

Mortal Kombat will be out on the Vita on May 1 in North America and May 4 in Europe, just over a month away.
