Myst TV Show Goes into Development

Myst TV Show Goes into Development

One of the most iconic point-n-click adventures from the old school days of desktop gaming is about to get a 2015 update in television form!

It was announced that Legendary TV will be bringing the classic to our airways, as they have recently joined with Cyan Worlds to develop the project. In an official statement regarding the upcoming piece, a Cyan spokesman said there goal is not just to “…create a compelling TV drama but to develop a true transmedia product that will include a companion video game that extends the story across both media. Seventy percent of tablet owners use their device while watching TV at least several times a week. Cyan sees the potential to push the boundaries of interactive storytelling to a new level.”

For those of you not old enough to remember it, Myst was the first of its kind. Even though this genre of gameplay had been around for several years before, this title’s appeal reached a much broader audience. Both gamers and causal fantasy fans alike were drawn into its immersive setting and complex puzzles. Several sequels and re-releases have hit the market since.

As mentioned above, an all-new game will tie into the TV show. So essentially we’re getting a game…based on a show…based on a game.
