Natal Launch Window Revealed

Natal Launch Window Revealed

None

Today, during THQ’s first quarter financial call to investors, CEO Brian Farrell revealed a couple interesting points concerning Microsoft’s Natal launch window and the longevity of current home consoles.

According to Mr. Farrell, Natal will hit store shelves in Q4 2010.  “Natal from Microsoft – a platform addition – [is] coming late next year.”

THQ’s honcho expects the big three console makers to continue to put out hardware and add-on peripherals in order to extend the life-cycle of their current products.  Moreover, price cuts have been slow to come, which also seems to be an indicator of a longer cycle.

Ferrell stated,  “And regarding price cuts, the fact the Wii is still at its launch price and Playstation 3 is still at a relevantly high price point. I think when we start thinking about the cycle, we should think it will be a longer cycle as hardware prices come down, we don’t think Microsoft will be alone in introducing peripherals or new devices that keep the current hardware fresh for at least the next three to five years.”
