Naughty Dog Releasing Art Book to Commemorate 30th

Naughty Dog has become one of those lovable staples of the games industry. In fact, it is hard to remember how we did without them back in the day (at least for me anyway). That is why I’ll be picking up The Art of Naughty Dog from Dark Horse.

In a recent post on the PlayStation.Blog, Naughty Dog Community Strategist  Eric Monacelli touted the companies long history in the gaming industry (and their unique art style). “Andrew Gavin and Jason Rubin formed a company called JAM (Jason and Andy Magic) Software.” Monacelli says. “Five years later, after finding new publishing support, the game development company with the very 80′s name incorporated as Naughty Dog, Inc. Fast forward to 2014…One of the hallmarks of Naughty Dog has always been our top-notch artistic quality and talent. We’re paying tribute to that this year as we’re teaming up with Dark Horse Comics to release The Art of Naughty Dog .”

The art depicted in the book will range from unreleased sketches to never before seen work pulled from the companies three decades. Monacelli also teases that this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to their big 3-0 plans, stating, “This kicks off several anniversary announcements happening over the coming months. Turning thirty is going to be a fun year for us all. Get ready to celebrate with us!”

The Art of Naughty Dog collection will be available sometime later this year.
