Need for Speed Drives at 30fps

Need for Speed Drives at 30fps

Three super important details have been revealed about Need for Speed , the new racing game that reboots the series for the PS4 and Xbox One. One might make you happy, and the other two definitely will. We’ll see how it goes.

First, the questionable news. Need for Speed will only run at 30fps. Ghost Games wanted to maintain a level of consistency, so it’s locked the framerate. It’s a quality control precaution.

Another good point is that someone won’t need Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus if they only want to enjoy Need for Speed ‘s Solo Mode. While the game must be connected to the internet at all times, regardless of mode, you only need the subscription service for multiplayer.

Finally, Ghost Games has no plans for any paid DLC, It will only offer free DLC. Which is crazy, because this is an EA game and EA games always have add-ons now, but still. It’s a welcome thought.

Need for Speed will be released on the PS4 and Xbox One on November 5, with a PC version bringing up the rear in 2016.
