New Details Emerge For Lighting Returns: Final Fantasy XIII

If you’re looking for a few more details on the upcoming Lighting Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, we’ve got you covered.

The latest issue of Famitsu Magazine has published some upcoming details about the latest entry from Square Enix in the Final Fantasy XIII universe.

First and foremost, here’s a tidbit that will bring an idiotic grin to the Final Fantasy fan’s face: you’ll be encountering many new enemies. In fact, roughly half of the monsters you’ll face are entirely new. That’ll calm down worries that Lightning Returns will copy and paste baddies from the previous two XIII entries. Another cause for celebration is the fact that you won’t need to purchase any sort of DLC to uncover the expanded ending, and the disc will include 100 percent of the story; no DLC required. Considering the latest outcries from gamers who think they’re being nickled and dimed for DLC, this is indeed a very good (and logical) move by Square Enix.

Continuing to address more fan complaints, Square Enix has implemented a new party-based combat system, and more customization options for Lightning were also mentioned.

If you’re worried about the fact that you’ll only have 13 in-game days to complete the game, don’t worry. Time will pause if you’re in a pause menu. So you shouldn’t feel too rushed.

Lighting Returns: Final Fantasy XIII is due out in 2013.
