New PlayStation 3 Model Revealed

New PlayStation 3 Model Revealed

Could Sony’s new console be their old console? For now, it looks like that’s the case.

At Sony’s Tokyo Game Show presentation they unveiled a brand new PlayStation 3 model; a PlayStation 3 Slim, Slim, if you will. Coming in both white and black (though the white option is only available in Japan), it’s the perfect console to pair up with your new Wii U if you are a stickler about aesthetics.

The brand new PS3 is about twenty percent slimmer than the current PS3 slim. It’s also nearly fifty percent slimmer than the PS3 Phat that came out oh so many years ago.

Two models of the new PS3 Ultra-Slim will be available coming, available in 250GB and 500GB versions.

In North America, the 250GB model will be available only in an Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception bundle. It will cost $269 and will come with the game and a voucher for $30 of bonus content for Dust 514. The 500GB model will retail for $299 and will be sold independently. Europe will also be getting another model which comes with 12GB of internal flash memory.

As of now, the system specs of this new PS3 Meta-Slim seem to be exactly the same as the previous PS3 slim model, so there’s no real reason to trade up if you already have a PS3. Then again, if you never purchased a PS3 before, this is the perfect time to hop on board with this sleek new model.
