All hail the great Nidhogg . Praise be to the great serpent… worm… thing. Praise be!
Nidhogg –renowned indie fighter that combines fencing, football, and lots and lots of flat out ritualistic murder–is coming to the PS4 and PS Vita this week. Originally only available on PC to people who had a bit of an indie streak in their Steam library, Sony is happy to add the game to their ever growing indie game database.
For those of you who missed the game’s original release, Nidhogg is a game where you and an opponent fight to be sacrificed to the glorious Nidhogg. Nearly every attack in the game is a one hit kill, but you can respawn as many times as you like. Essentially, the only thing killing an opponent gives you is time to run toward the sacrificial altar. Only the last person to score a kill can proceed forward, and so you push back and forth in an eternal tug of war, trying to get into your “end zone” before the opponent does. It’s a great game and made a splash back when it hit the PC back in January. If you haven’t played it yet, you should check it out.
