Nier: Automata Coming to Steam

Nier: Automata Coming to Steam

Square Enix announced today via a press release that Nier: Automata will be headed to Steam! This is great news for PC players who loved the original Nier back in 2010. The original came out on PS3 and Xbox 360, but there has been no mention of an Xbox One / Windows 10 Store version of Automata . At this point we have to assume that the game won’t be coming to Xbox One. If Square Enix were to announce the game for Microsoft platforms, they probably would have done so today.

Nier: Automata tells a brand new story, following androids 2B, 9S, and A2 as they fight to ward off invading machines. It’s being developed by a star-studded team which includes Yosuke Saito ( Dragon Quest X / Nier ), Yoko Taro ( Drakengard / Nier ), Akihiko Yoshida ( FF XIV / Bravely Default ), Takahisa Taura from Platinum Games, and Keiichi Okabe ( Tekken / Drakengard 3 / Nier ). With all of those seasoned develoeprs on-board, it’s hard to imagine this game being anything less than incredible. We’ll keep you updated, but for now all we know is that Automata will land on PS4 and PC sometime early in 2017.
