Nintendo Reveals More Exciting E3 Plans

Nintendo Reveals More Exciting E3 Plans

Nintendo has, thankfully, given its fans a little more to look forward to this year during E3. Previously all we knew was that we shouldn’t expect to see the NX at all, and that The Legend of Zelda Wii U was the only game that would be on the show floor; not very compelling. First things first: Nintendo has started a new retweet campaign for a Legend of Zelda tie-in with Miitomo – similar to the last campaign put on for the Splatoon tie-in. If they get 10,000 retweets then Miitomo users will unlock the “Link’s new hair” wig, and 20,000 retweets will unlock a “green Link” wig. Of course we’ll also see Miitomo Drop stages and Zelda -themed items in the store.

That’s all fine, but the really exciting news is Nintendo will be holding a special E3 sale on the eShop starting June 14. “Nintendo is offering discounts on some of its most popular games as a special treat for fans. My Nintendo members who are signed in will also get a special bonus if they buy select games included in the sale.” We don’t know what those special bonuses might be, but if I had to guess, I’d say extra gold and / or platinum coins. Prepare your wallets, friends. I’m hoping for some deep discounts.

BONUS! I almost forgot to mention: On June 14 Nintendo Treehouse Live will be streaming the new Legend of Zelda on Wii U. We all knew that, but what you may not have known is that we’ll also get our first look at gameplay from Pokemon Sun & Moon . The following day we’ll be treated to new footage from Monster Hunter Generations and Dragon Quest VII on the 3DS. Fear not, there’s more to look forward to next week than the new Legend of Zelda!
