The time has come. Nintendo is moving forward into a new era of centrality, connectedness, and powerful home consoles (as far as we can tell). We suspect Nintendo is taking two big steps this year as it prepares for the future. One step will be to branch out and start publishing smartphone games and apps, and the second will be releasing its next home console, code-named NX. While we don’t know for certain that Nintendo will be releasing the NX this year, we do know that its first mobile app, Miitomo, is out next month.
You can preregister for Miitomo now by going to the official website . You’ll have to create a new Nintendo Account first, but it’s really easy. It took me about 1 minute, and you don’t even have to link your social network accounts if you don’t want to. By preregistering you’ll be among the first to know when Miitomo is available to download, and you’ll also earn yourself some bonus Platinum Points, which you’ll be able to exchange for cool rewards via Nintendo’s new rewards program My Nintendo.
