I was starting to get a little worried that we weren’t going to see Miitomo this month! Everyone had expected a worldwide release on March 17, but the day came and went with no mention of a North American or European release. Afterward, a few Nintendo-focused websites noted that the official Miitomo website had removed a banner stating that the game would be coming out in March. I thought perhaps I should expect news of a delay, but fear not: Miitomo is swooping in at the last second and landing in North America and Europe on March 31.
Miitomo looks to be more fun than it sounds, and I’ll definitely be waiting to download it. The game isn’t the only thing to get excited about, though. March 31 will also usher in Nintendo’s new rewards program “My Nintendo.” Not only will you be socializing with your Mii in really weird ways come Thursday, you’ll also start racking up Platinum Points which can be redeemed for games, discounts, and content. You’ll also start earning Gold Points for your digital purchases from the Nintendo eShop, so if you’ve been waiting to pick up Twilight Princess HD or Super Mario Maker, you’ll want to at least hold off until after Thursday so you can start accruing rewards points.
