Nintendo's Yamauchi Tops Japan's Richest List

Former president of Nintendo, Hiroshi Yamauchi, was named by Forbes as the richest person in Japan.  Yamauchi led Nintendo during 53 years from 1949 to 2002.  Yamauchi was a visionary leader that transformed the company from a lowly playing card manufacturer to the robust electronic entertainment company we know today.

Yamauchi has always been a rich man, but the recent Nintendo successes and surge in stock price has pushed him to the top of Forbes’ list.  So how much is he really worth?  According to Forbes, about $7.8 billion USD.  That’s a whole lot of Mario!
