Nioh’s Next Demo Takes Us to Nakatsu

Nioh’s Next Demo Takes Us to Nakatsu

Koei Tecmo’s been pretty active about releasing Nioh demos. In April, we received an alpha demo that allowed us to earn free Mark of the Conqueror DLC and weigh in on various design features and decisions. At Gamescom 2016, the company went over the things we can expect from August’s Nioh beta demo, as well as the rewards we’ll get for completing it.

The Nioh demo will include three stages. The first is a Training Dojo, which teaches you how to play and use William’s katana. Which will be helpful, since this beta demo will have multiple katanas, including ones you can dual-wield. A retooled version of the Usuki stage, with new enemies and weapons, is available to retry. The Nakatsu stage is all new and sends William into a cave with human and yokai enemies. Katanas, cannon rifles, hammers, axes, spears, Onmyo magic, and ninjutsu will all be available in these areas.

Here’s a Nioh Gamescom trailer, to help you understand what you can expect from the game and its demo.

There are two DLC rewards to earn for going through the Nioh demo between August 23-September 6. Beating the Usuki stage gives you a chance to get Mark of the Conqueror, if you haven’t already. Completing Nakatsu gives you Mark of the Strong. Details as to what these bonuses will entail aren’t available, so we’ll have to see what we get when the game comes to the PlayStation 4 this year.
