Best Cars in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City - The Definitive Edition GTA

Best Cars in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories

The Grand Theft Auto franchise is known for its cars, boats, and aircrafts. It’s no different in Vice City Stories, which has a large catalog of vehicles for players to choose from. But which ones offer the best experience? Today, we will break down the best vehicles in Vice City Stories and provide a comprehensive list of must-try cars. While some offer speed and style, others can be more destructive and deadly in their nature.

PCJ-600

Vice City PCJ-600
As a fan-favorite car, the PCJ-600 has appeared in most GTA titles.

The PCJ-600 is the pinnacle of sports motorcycles. Based on the Suzuki-GSX, this motorcycle clocks in at over 118 mph (190 km/h). Its speed and handling feel good, and features a modern, sleek design, making it one of the best-looking vehicles. Players in the mission “Civil Assets Forfeiture Impound” must deliver the PCJ-600 to receive a $500 reward. It’s a part of the third Civil Asset list.

The vehicle is also available in other titles, such as Vice City, Liberty City Stories, San Andreas, GTA IV, and GTA V. Players can find it in multiple areas, including:

  • Under the bridge to Prawn Island by the Vice Point Mall
  • Near the Downtown police station
  • Parked in the yard at Jonathan Freeloader’s house
  • Parked in a lot behind Vice City News
  • Parked at Links View Apartment

Freeway

GTA Vice City Freeway

Sporting a different design, the Freeway has the speed of the PCJ-600 but a classic, badass design. The motorcycle is based on Harley-Davidson bikes with a Panhead engine. Similar to the PCJ-600, the bike appears in the Civil Assets Forfeiture Impound mission on the second Civil Asset list. After players deliver the Freeway, they will receive a $400 reward.

The Freeway has also been included in Liberty City Stories, Vice City, San Andreas, and GTA IV. Players can find the vehicle at these locations:

  • Parked outside of The Greasy Chopper
  • Near the White Stallionz in Little Haiti
  • Parked in the unnamed hotel parking lot in Ocean Beach

Rhino Tank

GTA Vice City Rhino Tank

Sometimes speed isn’t the best, with durability and power required to escape sticky situations. The Rhino Tank is an unstoppable machine that will destroy anything in its path. Its design uses multiple real-life tanks like the M93 Fox, Panhard ERC 90, M3 Stuart, and more.

While it only clocks in at 49 mph (80 km/h), nothing will stand in its way. The tank can destroy vehicles by running them over and comes equipped with a cannon. Be aware of the six stars that will appear once stolen.

The iconic tank has been featured in Liberty City Stories, GTA III, Vice City, San Andreas, and GTA V. Players can find it in the following locations:

  • Inside the Fort Baxter Air Base
  • Appear after achieving a six-star wanted level

Trashmaster

It’s not often that a garbage truck appears as one of the best vehicles in a game. However, what it lacks in appearance and control, it makes up for in power and speed. The Trashmaster can reach almost 70 mph (112 km/h) and take out any car in its way. Players will be able to barrel down the street in a 22,000 lbs (10,000 kg) vehicle that has the durability of a tank. While it lacks any weapons and will indeed get destroyed eventually by the authorities, it’s one of the best experiences in the game.

The Trashmaster has made appearances in Liberty City Stories, GTA III, Vice City, San Andreas, GTA IV, and GTA V. Players can find them around the map in these areas:

  • Parked in the junkyard in Little Haiti
  • Driving around Viceport at night

Speeder

Driving on the water usually isn’t featured in GTA titles as much, but is always a fun time.

Taking to the sea, the Speeder is an iconic GTA boat and one of the best ways to explore the water. Based on the Haines Signature 1700S, the boat is one of the fastest vehicles in the game, topping out just under 120 mph (193 km/h). While it’s a bit harder to find roaming around, players who are so lucky will be rewarded with an enjoyable experience in Ocean Bay.

The Speeder has appeared in Liberty City Stories, GTA III, Vice City, San Andreas, and GTA V. It can be found around the Lighthouse and appears in multiple missions, including:

  • Leap and Bound
  • Lost and Found
  • Empire Building

Hunter

The Rhino Tank is almost as indestructible as they come, but your biggest enemy is yourself.

Just like the Rhino Tank, the Hunter is a military-grade vehicle that will rain down disaster on the citizens of Vice City. The helicopter is faster than most other cars in the game, coming in at 124 mph (199 km/h). Based on the Boeing AH-64 Apache, the vehicle comes equipped with missiles and the advantage of being in the air.

While players will surely achieve six stars within a matter of seconds, there is no threat to the flying tank, except for the unfortunate times players blow themselves up on accident.

The Hunter has been included in Liberty City Stories, Vice City, San Andreas, and GTA Online. It can be found at the Escobar International Airport and appears in the side mission Skywolf.

Sea Sparrow

The Sea Sparrow is a seemingly innocent helicopter with a comical design. However, looks aren’t everything, and the Sea Sparrow holds a dark secret, making it one of the strongest vehicles in the game.

Along with the advantage of being able to land on the ground and sea, the helicopter is equipped with a machine gun. With its speed of 124 mph (199 km/h), no foe in the city or ocean can stand up to the power of the Sea Sparrow.

The helicopter has only appeared in a handful of titles, including Vice City, San Andreas, and GTA Online. You can find it in smuggling side missions and in the Land Sea and Air Ace missions.

Cheetah

As the second fastest car in the game, the Cheetah is one of the best cars players can steal. Reaching speeds of 142 mph (230 km/h) and based on the Ferrari Testarossa, the Cheetah provides a classic 1980s experience. The most famous use of the Ferrari Testarossa was in the television show Miami Vice, which later inspired the creation of Vice City.

Players can find this car in the Civil Assets Forfeiture Impound mission on the second Civil Asset list. Delivering the vehicle will reward $700. Titles like Liberty City Stories, GTA III, Vice City, San Andreas, and GTA Online have also featured it. Players who wish to take the Cheetah out for a spin can find it in these areas:

  • Parked in front of Diaz’s mansion
  • Parked in the lot behind Downtown’s hospital
  • In front of Lance’s hotel downtown
  • The northern road on Starfish Island

Infernus

The fastest vehicle in the game by far is the Infernus. Its design is based on the Lamborghini Countach and reaches 149 mph (239 km/h). The handling is top-notch, turning on a dime and easily drifting around corners. Players must deliver the car in the Civil Assets Forfeiture Impound mission, as it appears on the third Civil Asset list. Successfully delivering the car will reward $900.

The Infernus has appeared in Liberty City Stories, GTA III, Vice City, San Andreas, GTA IV, and GTA V. Players can find it in many locations throughout the game, including:
