Pirates of the Caribbean Cancelled

Pirates of the Caribbean Cancelled

None

Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned has been cancelled, according to Disney Interactive Studios. This title, which was a planned action-RPG set in the Pirates of the Caribbean universe (but not starring the personalities from the films) was on-track for a 2011 release last time we heard, and we even were able to check out an extensive pre-alpha walkthrough at this year’s E3. However, it looks like we’ll never get the chance to check this game out, despite its early promise. No immediate reason was given for the cancellation, but Propaganda Studios (which was responsible for the game’s development) has been significantly restructured, and the news of the cancellation led to more than 100 internal layoffs. Those who were kept on from the pirates team have been tapped to help put the final touches on Tron: Evolution, which is still on track for release this winter.
