Platinum Games Looks to the Future

None

With the release of Vanquish last week, Platinum Games has finished its four-game contract with SEGA. In an interview, Platinum Games’ executive director, Atsushi Inaba, said that while he wouldn’t mind working on another game for SEGA down the line, their first focus will be developing and nurturing their own original IP. This could spell trouble for anyone looking for immediate sequels (Bayonetta 2?) or console ports for the Wii-exclusive MadWorld, as Inaba seemed pretty focused on shifting away from games developed for the SEGA publishing house and looking towards their own internal development, adding that “the whole point of Platinum Games is to create our own IP, that’s what we do.”
