Star Wars: Battlefront II Cheats & Secrets for PC, PS4, and Xbox One

Star Wars: Battlefront II Cheats & Secrets for PC, PS4, and Xbox One

Star Wars: Battlefront II Summary

Not to be confused with the 2007 Xbox title of the same name, Star Wars: Battlefront II is EA and DICE’s first-person shooter set in the Star Wars universe. Playable as either a solo experience in Campaign mode or online as a multiplayer-focused competitive shooter, Battlefront II is the direct sequel to Star Wars: Battlefront and a reimagining of the original Star Wars: Battlefront multiplayer games. Battlefront II‘s release has been the subject of criticism concerning its implementation of microtransactions and “pay-to-win” mechanics. Developers at EA DICE have since updated the title to where most items are free for players.

The first Star Wars: Battlefront, released in 2015, successfully rebooted the Battlefront series for modern hardware. However, the first Battlefront is a multiplayer-only experience and does not feature a single-player campaign. Responding to requests from fans for a single-player mode, Battlefront II features a robust single-player campaign with a compelling story.

Since the title’s release in 2017, EA and DICE continue to regularly update Battlefront II with new content. The title most recently received its final content update as part of its live-service roadmap, and all remaining microtransactions are gone. Battlefront II is most commonly praised for its excellent audio and visuals, as well as its fun and engaging shooting combat.

A first and third-person shooter, Battlefront II features both on-ground and aerial battles using Star Wars‘ iconic vehicles. Additionally, players can choose from several iconic battles from the entire saga of Star Wars films. As players acquire streaks in battle, they can use them to play as notable heroes or villains from the series. Taking brief control of a hero can dramatically turn the tide of battle and gives players distinct advantages during matches.

Like many other multiplayer shooters, Battlefront II uses a matchmaking system to place players into desired maps and game modes. There are 23 maps to choose from and 4 different multiplayer game modes. Additionally, on-foot gameplay in Battlefront II is squad-based and requires a selection of classes. The four classes available to players are Assault, Heavy, Officer, and Specialist. As players defeat enemies and complete map objectives, Battle Points are awarded. These Battle Points can be exchanged for Reinforcements that can also help grant the advantage.

Notably, the title features a single-player campaign where players assume the role of Iden Versio. Iden is the commander of an elite group of Imperial soldiers and is one of the rare instances of players assuming the role of a villain in a Star Wars game. The single-player campaign takes players to numerous locations from the Star Wars films and features a plot that takes place immediately following Return of the Jedi.

Star Wars: Battlefront II Main Characters

As a game set in the Star Wars universe, many of the characters are famous heroes or villains from the films. It should be noted, however, that the single-player campaign introduces several new characters to the franchise. Main characters in Star Wars: Battlefront II include:

New Characters

  • Iden Versio: Iden Versio is the protagonist of Star Wars: Battlefront II‘s single-player campaign and the leader of Inferno Squad. After seeing The Emperor’s final plans play out following his death, she is disillusioned with The Galactic Empire and decides to assist the Rebel Alliance.
  • Del Meeko: Del Meeko is another member of Inferno Squad and joins Iden in her defection. The two eventually form a romantic relationship throughout the course of their journey together.
  • Gideon Hask: Gideon is also a member of Inferno Squad but chooses to betray Iden and Del rather than defect with them. He continues to be a secondary antagonist throughout much of the campaign.
  • Admiral Garrick Versio: Admiral Versio is the commander of the Eviscerator Star Destroyer and Iden’s father. He is the primary antagonist of Battlefront II‘s campaign and a stalwart loyalist to the Empire.

Returning Characters

  • Luke Skywalker: Luke Skywalker is the hero of the Rebellion and the Jedi Knight son of Darth Vader. Following the death of The Emperor and his father, he works with the Rebel Alliance to establish a new peace across the galaxy.
  • Leia Organa: Leia Organa is the adopted daughter of Alderranean royalty and Luke Skywalker’s twin sister. She becomes a general in the Rebel Alliance and is responsible for the protection of Naboo following the Empire’s decline.
  • Lando Calrissian: Lando Calrissian is the former governor of Cloud City and current Rebel general who spearheaded the mission to destroy Death Star II. He is a longtime associate and friend of Han Solo as well as the original owner of the Millennium Falcon.
  • Han Solo: Notable scoundrel and one of the best pilots in the galaxy. Han Solo is another hero of the Rebellion and a general in the Rebel Alliance.
  • Kylo Ren: Sith Lord Kylo Ren appears in Battlefront II following an important time skip in the campaign’s plot. The events during this section of the game tie into The Force Awakens. Kylo is the former Jedi-in-training son of Leia and Han and nephew to Luke Skywalker.

Games in the Star Wars: Battlefront Series

Since the franchise’s origins from the 1977 original film, Star Wars continues to be one of the most popular series in history. Interestingly, the advent of the medium of video games coincided with the release of the original trilogy of films. As a result, Star Wars has had video game adaptations since the earliest days of its existence. The Battlefront series originally released for 6th generation consoles but was rebooted for the PS4, PC, and Xbox One in 2015. Games in the Battlefront series include:

  • Star Wars: Battlefront (2004)
  • Star Wars: Battlefront II (2005)
  • Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron (2007)
  • Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron (2009)
  • Star Wars Battlefront: Mobile Squadrons (2009)
  • Star Wars: Battlefront (2015)
  • Star Wars: Battlefront II (2017)

Star Wars: Battlefront II Cheats and Secrets

Like many other games that have both console and PC versions, cheats are only available for the PC release of Star Wars: Battlefront II. This was likely done to discourage cheating in what was originally a microtransaction-heavy live-service title and prevent acquisition of resources or items that cost real-world currency. Still, there are verified cheats for the title using the WeMod software and the correct trainer on PC.
