Platinum Wants to Bring Its Games to PC

We tend to think of PlatinumGames as synonymous with “quality and fun.” When you hear that a game is being worked on or developed by Platinum, you hear things like, “Thank goodness,” and “It’s in good hands,” or “It’ll have that Platinum shine.” That’s not to say they haven’t produced a few goose eggs – Mutants in Manhattan sucked big time – but their track record is admirable. Past hits include can’t-miss classics like Bayonetta 1 & 2, The Wonderful 101, Vanquish, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance , and others.

In a fascinating interview with Kotaku , PlatinumGames co-founder Atsushi Inaba hinted that the studio would love to bring its games to PC. In the end it’s the publishers call, but Platinum and Valve have become pretty chummy. “We’re good friends with Valve and often go to their studio,” he said. “We are very interested in Steam and would definitely like to release games on Windows.” When pressed specifically about Vanquish , Inaba responded, “Hrm. I wonder… If you stop recording, I can talk about that (laughs).” I don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up, but that does sound promising. If and when we do hear anything official, we’ll be sure to get you guys up to speed.
