PlayStation 4 Twitch.TV Streaming Won’t Display Social Messages

PlayStation 4 Twitch.TV Streaming Won’t Display Social Messages

One of the PS4’s biggest features is the ability to stream directly to a Twitch.TV account from your console. However, any accomplished streamer knows that friends list messages become then bane of your existence very quick. When they pop up on screen while streaming, they broadcast your friends’ usernames to the Internet at large. As a result, many people are harassed by anonymous stream viewers, simply because.

Luckily, Sony has had the foresight to actually fix this problem. When a message pops up on your side while you are streaming, the PS4 automatically blurs it out stream side. All notifications including friends, private messages, or other private information will be censored, but only on the other end of the stream. You can check them out and read them just fine, although your stream viewership might drop if you spend a half hour checking messages your viewers can’t read.
